Badger Fencing using Tornado Wire’s i-Post® and Pro-Strain® system

Overview

Fencing contractor Stewart Fearns recently completed a fencing project at a well-known estate in Derbyshire. Creating a contained area to prevent badgers and other livestock from entering an AFU unit using Tornado’s Pro-Strain i-Post® and Pro-Strain® system.

The goal was to create a secure, long-lasting solution that could withstand challenging terrain.

Challenge

The site presented physical and environmental obstacles:

• Hard, rocky ground made traditional post installation difficult.

• Burrowing wildlife required the bottom netting to be dug in.

• The solution needed to be cost-effective, durable, and easy to install.

Approach

After consulting with Alice from Tornado Wire, the i-Post® was chosen for its strength and adaptability. The posts were installed using a hydraulic auger, and the ability to staple anywhere along the post made installation more efficient.

The system also proved to be more economical than creosote-treated timber, offering long-term savings.
